Background
In 2015 the Governments of Spain and Portugal passed laws that allow people who are descended from conversos or “New Christians” to become citizens. The program for Spain has ended, but that for Portugal continues. The process for Portugal is fairly streamlined, and relatively cheap, but requires a very specific genealogical report.
